What you've lain eyes upon is the sacrificial vessel of the Yael-an-baltari, a primordial race that pioneered the galaxy while most races were still first coming out of water. The yellow sections are painted with the blood of a sacred berango, horned creatures of the Yael home world riksandras-val. The grey areas are a polished primordial impervium, found on only the oldest worlds in the galaxy. Close up, one shall find they are engraved with beautiful snaking designs, as to let the blood of lesser races flow across it's sacred hull. These engravings, which take a decade to finish, lead to the engine, of which the blood fuels it's bolta core. The bolta core allows flight into the next plane, effectively allowing it's pilot to "ascend" and bring prosperity to their people. A simple process, really, you must first carve a wooden blade of the first root of a life tree, for which the blood of a century-foretold being shall be spilled upon the vessel, donning their ceremonial markings and the full brunt of their faith.
