THIS HAS GONE ON FOR LONG ENOUGH WITH MISMATCHED FURNISHINGS.

IT'S TIME TO SHOW YOU HOW TO DO IT THE COOL WAY!

HERE ARE THE STEPS YOU NEED TO DO:

TYPE IN /FULLBRIGHT AND PRESS ENTER. YOU MAY NEED TO TYPE /ADMIN AND PRESS ENTER FIRST.

THEN PLACE THE OBJECT YOU WANT TO RECOLOR (UNLESS YOU HAVE AN ASSETS FOLDER, THEN FIND THE OBJECT'S FOLDER AND IMAGE).

THEN, IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE ASSETS, PLACE IT DOWN AND TAKE A SCREENSHOT.

PICK THE ITEM BACK UP AND EXIT STARBOUND, STARCHEAT DOESN'T WORK WITH STARBOUND ON.

CLICK ON THE ITEM YOU WANT RECOLORED, THEN MAKE A NEW PARAMETER THAT LOOKS LIKE THIS:

STARTING TO LOOK FAMILIAR? THIS IS A LOT LIKE RECOLORING CLOTHING, SO IF YOU KNOW THAT, THIS TUTORIAL IS OVER AND YOU CAN PROBABLY WORK OUT THE REST YOURSELF.

BUT IF YOU DON'T, LET'S OPEN UP AN IMAGE EDITING PROGRAM WITH THE SCREENSHOT FROM EARLIER (OR THE IMAGE FROM THE ASSETS), THEN USE THE COLOR PICKER/DROPPER TOOL TO GET THOSE COLORS!

THEN, IT IS, AGAIN, LIKE RECOLORING CLOTHING. IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND IT, THE ?REPLACE DIRECTIVE GOES LIKE THIS:

    OLDCOLOR=NEWCOLOR;

NOW, LET'S COPY THE OLD VALUES ONTO THE PARAMETER, LIKE SO:

NOW, RECOLOR A COPY OF THE IMAGE YOU MADE EARLIER AND REPEAT THE PROCESS, BUT PUT THE NEW COLORS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE EQUALS SIGN.

NOW THAT YOU'RE DONE THAT, SAVE YOUR CHARACTER, AND PLACE DOWN THE OBJECT. IT'LL LOOK NORMAL UNTIL YOU ACTUALLY PLACE IT DOWN.

VOILA! YOU'VE SUCCESSFULLY RECOLORED AN OBJECT. NOTE THAT REMOVING IT REMOVES THE COLORS SO YOU'LL HAVE TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN IF YOU REMOVE IT BY ACCIDENT OR SOMETHING. ALSO KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS DOESN'T WORK ON SOME OBJECTS, LIKE LIGHTS AND SWITCHES.

NOW HAVE FUN MAKING ALL YOUR FURNITURE LOOK LIKE IT BELONGS IN THE SAME BUILDING!

    *cough cough too much yelling*

It is easier to unpack assets, find your thing's image, and use an image editing program like GIMP or Paint.

Then use a directive generator exe program on it to get the directives. It even does transparency.

(not sure where to get the directive gen because I got it years ago)
