Name: Rapid Extension Achieved by Controlled Hydraulics. Boosters. Longarms and Farleapers. Hydro's.

Description: R.E.A.C.H. Prosthetics are similar to regular prosthetics, at least upon first look. They can be manipulated like a standard limb, they're mechanical in construction, and they can come in a variety of appearances. What's the same with all R.E.A.C.H. prosthetics, however, is the mechanism by which they operate. All R.E.A.C.H. prosthetics have interlocking metal plates making up the body of the device, with visible seams, as well as internal hydraulics that handle all the device's functions.

    Abilities:
Limbs Can be Extended and Retracted Forcefully: Due to utilizing hydraulics, R.E.A.C.H. prosthetics can achieve great amounts of force when extending and contracting. In the case of arms, this can be used to greatly increase the amount of force behind a punch, while legs can be used in the same way for a kick, or used as a method of attaining great lift through a jump.
Reliability: Hydraulics don't have to worry about overheating, meaning that as long as they don't have any of the hydraulic lines cut, a R.E.A.C.H. prosthetic can fire off again and again without worries of the limb damaging itself, unlike other weaponized prosthetics such as the gravity fist.

    Conditional Abilities (Optional):
Can be Held Extended: The prosthetics can be held in their extended condition, keeping the hydraulics extended at their max length.
Legs Can be Used for Landing: Extended R.E.A.C.H. legs can be utilized to extend the moment of impact from a fall, and therefor decrease the damage sustained, by performing a slow retraction at the same time as landing occurs.

    Limitations:
    Cannot be EMP Shielded:
Due to the fact that the body of the prosthetic is made up of interlocked plates rather than a single solid body, it's infeasible to introduce a faraday cage into the design that wouldn't just be ripped apart the first time the prosthetic is deployed. Thankfully, the hydraulics are mechanical in nature, meaning they won't be damaged at all by the EMP. The computer controlling the limbs, however, will still be temporarily disabled as normal, preventing use of the limbs for the standard duration.

    Conditional Limitations (Optional):
Harder to Use While Maintaining Extension: While in their extended form, the arms lose a great deal of finesse, and the legs are wobbly to walk on.
Easier to Damage While Extended: While the prosthetics are extended, the previously interlocked metal plates are now spread out across the entire length of the limb.
Highly Susceptible to Targeted Damage: Due to the movement of the limbs being entirely hydraulic based, damage to the hydraulic lines will not just prevent the extension of the limb, but also greatly hamper using the limb for regular purposes as well.

How does it work: Rather than opting for synthetic muscle fibres, R.E.A.C.H. prosthetics operate on a hydraulic system. While at first, this may seem like an antiquated technology compared to modern synthetic muscle fibers, it's also the limb's strength. Utilizing the internal hydraulics and pistons, the limbs can be rapidly extended to a max length of 5 feet for the arms, or 7 feet for the legs, at which point the interlocked metal plates are no longer interlocked, and in fact have slim gaps between them exposing the hydraulics underneath. There are two main operating modes, Fire and Withdraw, and Just Fire. While operating in Fire and Withdraw mode, the limb quickly extends to maximum length, retracting half a beat or so after finishing. Alternatively, in Just Fire mode, the prosthetics will quickly extend to it's maximum length, and stay extended until the retract command is sent.

Flavor text: After long hours of experimentation and design, during which multiple ideas were scrapped, a fringe prostheticist finished an idea that they thought could change lots of things. While originally devised as a way of helping out with warehouse operations, these limbs quickly found their ways into more nefarious hands, who appreciated a boost to their hits that wasn't quite as expensive as going for gravity tech.
