    Fusion Charges
    Directional Anti-Armor Fusion Charge, DAAFC

    Description:
    A Fusion Charge looks like a Splitter Charge that’s been sliced in half, because that’s basically what it is. A Fusion Charge has several fuel cells in a ring around a Dense Electron battery, and beneath these is a reaction chamber within the charge itself. After this is where it deviates in appearance from a Splitter Charge. How the charge is primed or carried varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, some have a large swinging carry handle similar to a splitter charge with a pin inserted near the handle, while others like the one depicted below have two handles with buttons on the ends of each one where you need to press in both buttons to prime the charge. It has the same dimensions as a splitter charge as well, being anywhere around eight inches in diameter, and it weighs about four to six pounds.

    Abilities:
    • A Fusion Charge fires a jet of concentrated plasma out of the bottom capable of piercing conventional armored vehicles. Once through whatever the charge is attached to, the plasma will begin to disperse and cool. In enclosed spaces such as vehicle compartments, this is extremely dangerous to the occupants, while in open spaces such as a full room it's only immediately dangerous to any within ten feet of the breach.
    • Fusion Charges, like Splitter Charges, are notoriously hard to remove once placed.

    Conditional Abilities:
    • A spent fusion charge can be recovered after use. It’ll require a recharged battery, a replacement ferozium plate, and a replacement bottom shell.

    Limitations:
    • Fusion Charges are extremely loud, generally producing a very loud whine that’s audible from within whatever it’s attached to.
    • Takes 1 CRP turn to go off after priming.
    • Fusion Charges are incapable of piercing vehicles with ferozium armor.
    • A Fusion Charge’s range is limited to how far a user or home-made launcher can toss it- or how willing a user is to run directly at a target.

    How does it work:
    Once the charge is primed and attached to its target it begins to spool up.

    Fusion fuel is injected into the reaction chamber before it's begun to be spun within the chamber by electromagnets powered by the Dense Electron battery to create a micro fusion reaction. The reaction chamber itself is contained within a conical Ferozium plate that’s used to direct the heat and plasma down to its base. During this time the charge begins to buzz and then whine as the reactants within the chamber heat up more. After ten seconds, the heat of the plasma melts through the bottom of the charge and is expelled into whatever it’s attached to, melting through armor and walls alike.

    Once through its target, the plasma begins to disperse into the compartment or room on the other side. In open spaces, only people within ten feet of the charge are in immediate danger. While an inclosed vehicle compartment will be quickly engulfed by a blast of superheated plasma.

    Flavor text:
    After witnessing the effectiveness of Splitter Charges as anti-tank weaponry, several arms companies scrambled to create a more potent version of it. Soon enough they figured out that they could concentrate the charge to be able to penetrate thicker armor. Development didn’t take long until one created what is the standard Fusion Charge.

    Given these use a DE battery, is it safe to assume if I were to shoot, smash or otherwise destroy one of these before they have a chance to go off, they'd produce an explosion (as opposed to the intended jet of plasma)?

    Yes! It'd still produce a dangerous explosion around where it was attached, but assuming it's attached to a vehicle it wouldn't have the intended effect since it's a kinetic blast and not a plasma one.
