    Name: Xinodus Vanocyclic Power Cell

    Description:
    Vanocyclic cells are rather uniform in appearance, though they may vary in size (usually no larger than 10 inches in length, most often found around 4-6in). They appear as dull gray capsules, with a set of four glass strips stretching from the top to the bottom of the cell, each situated 90 degrees from each other on the cylinder's circumference. At the top is a port that functions mostly universally among Xinod tech.

    Abilities:
    The Vanocyclic cells are unique in their ability to emit a constant current with no obvious source. The output isn't a lot, but it's enough to power many non-weaponized personal devices, with the larger cells being able to power drones, robots, and even power armor.
    Their make is very durable! Their casings can and have stood the test of time, and can even survive small arms fire.

    Conditional Abilities (Optional):
    Vanocyclic cells are only briefly disrupted by an EMP, however the same can't always be said for whatever equipment they are powering.
    While they are designed to be inserted into xinod technology, one can engineer an adapter in order to allow the cell to power modern technology.

    Limitations:
    Vanocyclic cells tend to not output much power- generators and batteries of equivalent size can match their outputs, even if Vanocyclic cells are relatively lightweight by comparison.
    These cells have some mind-numbingly advanced DRM, with the proper shielding to deflect even the most advanced of modern scanning technology, and self-terminating countermeasures if their housings are breached.

    Conditional Limitations (Optional):
    As these cells output a constant current, and lack the ability to rapidly discharge energy, they cannot supplement energy weaponry such as tesla and lasers. This makes them impractical to weaponize in such a manner, on their own. However there are some ways around this if one is creative. For example, they can be used in combination with a rechargeable battery bank to create weapons that can pull power from the battery bank as a sort of buffer... though it makes for a heavy firearm.

    How does it work:
    Created and deployed by a Xinod faction over a thousand years ago, these cells were designed with precursor level technology. The source of their power comes from somewhere, using exploitations of physics beyond modern understanding...

    Flavor text:
    A lone, bright Fenerox, equipped only with a torch and meager rations, enters the mouth of the chrome corpse. He, and all his people were forbidden from approaching this place, let alone enter. But with a spark of brightness in his generation, and an all-consuming desire to discover, led him to this cursed place.

    He did not set foot far into the gaping chasm before rubble and rock gave way to dull, gray tiles and architecture. Corpses of chrome beings, and the occasional ancestor of his were discovered in but only remnants- a clavicle, mechanical grips, a broken pelvis protruding from a collapsed doorway- its threshold sealed not by wood or leathers, but of cold refined earths. Yet this did not instill him with fear, as he explored the long-dead behemoth.

    Eventually he came upon an altar of chrome, stood before it two chassis, tall and imposing, yet empty, its carapace and flame spears dusty and cold. Upon its chestpiece was a set of carvings, a horizontal divet streaked along its collar. A cautious hand moves to displace the dust, to expose these runes to the light. Alas, a green light shines into his large eyes, the sentry coming to life from its dormant state. The millenium old golem raised its blade high above its head, a cylinder within its torso humming with the mind-aching drone of florescent lights, before the blade was brought down swiftly.

    The Fenerox was no more.

    Hey, I'm going to begin grading on this application today.

    While their make is quite sturdy as you say, if they were to be breached, what would happen beyond it not functioning any longer? Do they explode? If so, how much of an explosion? Also, is it more susceptible to energy weapons, kinetic damage, or is it about equally resilient against both?

    Roughly how heavy would you say they are in your minimum and maximum size specifications? Just a min-max range is fine.

    Is it fair to say that most things being powered by this would have to be made with low energy usage in mind compared to otherwise completely identical things being powered by more common methods, since you said the output was low? Just to put into perspective whether or not more than a simple adapter would be needed for some things to actually function using this, since the energy demand may just be too high for this cell to supply if whatever it's powering is being converted to it. I imagine a more fancy or power-hungry robot switching from a traditional battery would need to scale down some features or even remove some to reliably use this; same with power armor and maybe even some drones.

    It's about equally resistant to most weapon types. Whenever they are breached or compromised in any manner that might expose its inner workings, they tend to rupture apart violently, which poses a risk of shrapnel and mild to moderate burns depending on proximity and if the individual has exposed skin or not.

    I'd say around 0.25 Kg to 3 Kg at their smallest and largest.

    While the energy output isn't necessarily super low, it's low to the point where most tech that requires a burst of energy cannot use this as a replacement for a battery or cell of some kind. Think laser guns, shield belts, dash tech, basically consider anything where its ooc balance comes from limited uses per battery/recharge. But larger cells can be used to keep some things powered indefinitely- such as the larger cells being able to meet the demands of some power armor. For devices that constantly draw power, even if it's more than the cells provide, they can still use used to extend battery life, or let said devices recharge when unpowered.
